What's So Great About Destination Weddings?

Destination weddings in Hawaii offer several advantages over traditional weddings. Whether you're getting married for the first time, planning a commitment ceremony, or renewing your vows, a destination ceremony has many perks.

After answering our couple’s questions about getting married in Hawaii, one of the most common questions we get is about how to book travel.

Quick Notes:

• Peak season is over the Christmas/New Year’s holidays, spring break, Japanese Golden Week, and to a lesser extent, summer vacation, but there are always rooms and flights available in Hawaii.
• Low season is roughly from early spring through June and from September to the middle of December.
• Check flights and hotels on travel sites, such as expedia.com, and then compare directly on the airline and hotel websites.
• For Honolulu, you’ll fly into Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) on the island of Oahu.

To say that we’re excited would be an understatement! The plan to open Hawaii up on October 15th to travelers with a negative COVID test within 72 hours of arrival was the best news that many business owners in Hawaii have heard this year. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome our couples to Hawaii!

Hotels

Some hotels are finishing up renovation projects or are opening later in the year, but most of the hotels we work with are already open or planning to open soon. If you’ve been to Hawaii before and have a favorite hotel that's not on the list below, please check their website for opening dates.

What to Know for a Waikiki Beach Wedding

Waikiki Beach is probably the most famous beach in Hawaii. Located on the south coast of Oahu fronting the hotels, nearly every visitor knows this stretch of sandy paradise.

It’s important to note that the State of Hawaii does not issue wedding permits for most of Waikiki Beach. There is one particular part on the western end of Waikiki Beach (Kahanamoku Beach) where a permit can be obtained for beach weddings, and this is where we hold the ceremonies.

Unlike our other Hawaii beach wedding locations, we don’t yet have a dedicated photo gallery for this location. We have done several ceremonies here because couples have asked for this location. You can think of Waikiki Beach as our “secret menu” item, not on the usual menu, but if you ask for it, we can do it for you!

The bridal bouquet is generally regarded as the most important floral arrangement for the ceremony, and we have many options for you. You can choose from our Classic, Premium, Elite, or Custom bouquets.

While we do have couples doing last-minute Hawaii elopements or vow renewals, many of our couples spend months or more planning their Hawaii destination wedding. As the departure date gets closer, you can take comfort in knowing we’ve taken care of your ceremony details, but there are some things you need to do to make sure it all goes as smoothly as possible.
